Week in Poland
Sunday 19.3.2017
On Sunday at 11.00 we started our trip to Gdansk from Karhulan linja-autoasema. We drove to Helsinki and arrived to the airport at 13.00.
Our first flight was supposed to be at 15.40 but it changed to 16.10. We flew to Copenhagen but because of the first flight, we missed our second flight and we had to wait for 5 hours at the Copenhagen airport.
At 22.55 we got on to the plane and we arrived to Gdansk at 23.50. The polish students were waiting for us and Weronika and her dad drove me to their house where I just went to sleep.
Monday 20.3.2017
On Monday our school started at 8.15. We had a presentation about the school and then some food-games and Kahoot. After that at 10.00 we had lunch.
When we finished eating, we had an art workshop where we made some lapbooks about fruits or vegetables. After that we went bowling and we had pizza. It was fun.
In the evening Weronika had her lesson and her dad drove me to the Anias house where the other students were and we played some games and tasted some foods. Then her dad took us home and we watched Harry Potter while her dad was making soup for dinner. We ate and went to sleep. Very nice day.
Tuesday 21.3.2017
On Tuesday we went to school at 9.00 and then we walked to the tram station. We travelled to Gdansk Old City and we had a city game with international groups. Old city was really beautiful and the game was fun.
After that we went to eat and I ate some tomato soup and pancakes. Then we travelled back to the school with a tram and at the school we were making the recipes for Friday and writing our blogs. After school we went to some shopping center with a train but we were there only about twenty minutes because we decided to go to Marys house. There we had fun and played some word games. Weronikas dad drove us home from there and we went to sleep.
I think Poland is very nice country and Gdansk is a beautiful city.
Wednesday 22.3.2017
On Wednesday we went to the porcelain factory called Lubiana. We weren't allowed to take photos there, but it was cool to see how they make porcelain from beginning to end. I bought three mugs from their shop and after that we drove to some restaurant where they gave us soup.
After eating, we walked to this museum about old buildings in Gdansk. We saw an old school, church and windmills.
After the museum, we walked back to the restaurant and started cooking. While we were waiting for the food, we had a drive with a horse carriage.
We got back to the restaurant once again and we ate. We had meat, dumplings and dessert. I liked the food.
After we finished, we drove back to the school and me, Weronika, Karoliina and Marysia went to Sopot to see the longest wooden bridge in Europe. We met Anja and Anne-Merle there. I was very tired and Weronikas dad drove us home.
Thursday 23.3.2017
On Thursday we had a presentation about food and food additives at the school.
After that, we walked to the Jump City and we spent an hour there. It was fun! After Jump City we went to eat.
We ate at the vegan restaurant, Avocado. Food was good. We went back to the school and we had some presentations about table manners. We planned our healthy snacks and when the school ended, I went to a shopping center with a group of people, because my exchange student Weronika had her lesson. We went to eat and we bought chocolate and then Weronikas dad drove me and Weronika to this big shopping center in Gdansk and i bought some makeup.
Friday and Saturday 24.-25.3.2017
On Friday we went to school at 9.30 and after everyone was there, we went shopping for our cooking competition.

After that, we went to see presentations about table catering and napkin folding.

Then we started cooking - I cooked with Weronika and Roksana. We made banana-mango smoothie, ryebread with salmon and almette-cheese and yoghurt cake with cherries. The snacks were really good.

After cooking the school day ended and we went to see the Gdansk Old City with Weronika and her parents. We went to the ferris wheel in the center of the Old City and the view was lovely. We walked trough the Old City and it was beautiful because it was dark and the lights were on.

We drove back to the house and I packed my suitcase and then we drove to the school. We had a film night. A lot of students were there and we watched four films. There was also a lot of tasty snacks.

At Saturday, 4 o‘clock in the morning we went to the airport. Our flight was on time and so was the second flight. We drove back to Kotka with a bus and we all were very tired.

The trip was very good! All the students and teachers were nice and I had really good time and made lots of new, international friends. If I ever have a change again, I will go back to Poland!
