Quinoa Schule
Job Shadowing at Quinoa Schule, Berlin
12–16 October 2026
During our job shadowing week at Quinoa Schule, we explored innovative approaches to teaching, student wellbeing, inclusion and learning support through lesson observations and discussions with teachers, specialists and school leaders.
A key focus was creating a safe learning environment that supports students’ needs for autonomy, social connection and belonging. We learned about social work, outdoor and experiential education, small-group learning support (Booster) and digital tools such as SPLINT for planning individualised support.
The programme also included observations of lessons in languages, mathematics, music and future-oriented learning, as well as creative learning spaces and the innovation lab. We explored student participation, project-based learning and methods for evaluating the impact of support measures.
The mobility provided valuable ideas for developing student-centred teaching, wellbeing, inclusion and collaboration between teachers and support professionals in our own school.
