Lecture 5 Why is ethics important in organizations?

Lecture 5 Why is ethics important in organizations?

In a general way we all know that ethics is important in any organization. But not so often we stop to think what are the main reasons for that. In this lecture professor Lämsä points out three main issues related to that: a) achieving organizational excellence, b) building good reputation, and c) social standing and good relationships with all stakeholders.

You can also follow her discussion about the moral development plan modified from the work by Robin and Reidenbach. While listening, please pay attention the questions and arguments presented by the students – you may also make notes to your own reflective report accordingly.

Please relate the issues in lectures three and four also to the course EDLS320 Ethical and Responsible Leadership in this program for detailed information about values and ethics.
