Course delivery

The course consists of lectures given by various professionals in the field of education: early childhood education, special education, evaluation, counselling, educational psychology, educational research, teacher education and the practice of teaching.

Assignment

The students are expected to deliver a written report with a critical analysis of both case Finland and their own educational approaches. Use the lectures and other reference material about Finnish educations as the basis on analyzing the approaches of education in Finland. Then, find appropriate material from your own country, and discuss for examples the similarities and differences in educational solutions. Also discuss the key points in developing educational systems in your own country, and discuss if and how the Finnish experiences can be utilized in your country. The suggested length of the paper is min 6 – max 8 pgs.

Assessment

Completed coursework and a written report. The evaluation scale is 1-5.
