A good day care and early childhood education is something that Finland is proud of. The system has been on place for several years and includes activities from the very beginning a child is born up to the time the child goes to elementary school. In this session, professor Karila tell briefly about the evolvement of day care system in Finland and the present administrative and practical status of the field.

Session 7 consists of 4 lectures and PowerPoint slides related to it. There will be no readings no assignments in this session, but keep in mind in this session, as well as in the sessions to come, the assignment for this course. It is therefore advised, that while listening the lectures, make your own notes about the educational solutions in Finland.
