Lecture 2 The HEAD project
Lecture 2 The HEAD project
The HEAD project was a four-year international comparative study of the quality of school leadership programs in five countries: Norway , Finland, France, England, and the United States. The objective of the research program was to obtain new knowledge about school manager training of quality internationally and then apply
the results for quality improvement.
One important notion in the HEAD project was to see the role of school leaders’ training’s role in the “Education Value Chain”, which can be seen as the entire route from national educational policies to student learning outcomes. During this lecture we learn that school leaders’ training programs have an essential role
in that value chain.
