Lecture 9 Draft report from Ghana (Samuel)

Lecture 9 Draft report from Ghana (Samuel)

In Lecture 9 Samuel introduces the Ghana case. He first reviews the educational system structure. In Ghana, decentralisation is the trend in educational reforms. In order to become a school principal, teachers need to send their applications and receive the interviews afterwards. There are workshops financed by the district education office to train the newly appointed principals. As to the future challenges, Samuel mentions that school principals need more public recognition. There should be a special institution to provide leadership training. Such kind of training should also be put into legislation.
