Lecture 2 Package for motherhood in Finland – essential beginning

Lecture 2 Package for motherhood in Finland – essential beginning

Different countries support young mothers in different ways. In Finland, it has been a tradition for several years that each mother after the birth of her child, receives a significant help from the state in a form a ‘package’. This ‘package’ includes practical items like baby’s clothes and blankets for the care of the child. In addition to that, the families get child support of about 100€/month until the child is 18 years old to be used for the child’s expenses. At the end of the class, the lecturer tells about the work in day care and the qualifications to work in the field.
