1. A meteorite fell out of the sky.
Luckily it didn’t fall / did not fall in our fields.
Meteoriitti putosi taivaalta.
Onneksi se ei pudonnut pelloille.
2. Dad brought the cows in.
He didn’t bring / did not bring the goats in, though.
Isä toi lehmät sisään.
Hän ei kuitenkaan tuonut vuohia sisälle.
3. All the birds flew into the woods.
Our ducks didn’t fly / did not fly anywhere.
Kaikki linnut lensivät metsään.
Ankkamme eivät lentäneet minnekään.
4. The next day the pond in our yard froze over.
The bigger lakes didn’t freeze / did not freeze.
Pihallamme oleva lampi jäätyi seuraavana päivänä.
Isommat järvet eivät jäätyneet.
5. The moon shone brightly last night.
The night before it was cloudy and the moon didn’t shine / did not shine.
Kuu loisti kirkkaasti viime yönä.
Edellisenä yönä oli pilvistä, eikä kuu loistanut.
