Lecture 1 Introduction/ Organizational learning

Lecture 1 Introduction/ Organizational learning

Lecture 1 starts with the course orientation. Professor Alava introduces the course structure, learning outcomes, and the reading materials. Then, we can follow the development of the concept of learning organization from its origin. We get to know from 1970s, Argyris and Schön’s research on organizational learning. They introduced very important concepts called single loop and double loop learning. Later, since 1990s Peter Senge's The Fifth Discipline drew people's attention to the systems thinking. All and all, this course aims at linking the system's thinking with the organizational learning.
