Session two opens the field of education to us as a science and discipline, but also as field of inquiry. Professor Tjeldvoll, using his own experiences as colourful examples, broadens our understanding on educational rationality in different countries. He also explains the important notion of research paradigms, which all researchers and practitioners should understand in conducting scientific research or in trying to make sense on everyday event in educational organizations.
