- resources to maintain society´s services to citizes come from taxes
- anyone in Finland earning money must have a taxation card (verokortti)
- there are both direct and indirect taxes
- moonlight work is illegal because you do not pay taxes as you do not
inform the State
- communal tax rate is decided by the local commune body
- if you lie to the State and do not tell about every money you earn then
you will be punished with an elevated tax
- taxes are paid from consumption of various goods and services, from
wage labor, and from the profits of the companies
- every year you will be controlle whether you have paid enough taxes by
doing tax announcement (veroilmoitus)
- the Finnish parliament (eduskunta) accept every year the budget which
is made by the government (hallitus)
