Lecture 2 Motivation theories

Lecture 2 Motivation theories

Lecture 2 introduces two motivation theories. As an educational leader, you can apply the classical Maslow's hierarchy of needs as the tool to analyze people's needs and align them with the organizational goals. Please note that there is also criticism towards of Maslow's model. Especially when it comes to the internal conflicts within the hierarchy, the leader has to see the big picture. Later, professor Alava tells an important example about MacGregor's X and Y theories in the organization. These two assumptions subconsciously guide leader's attitudes toward the employees and finally reach the self fulfillment.
