Lecture 4 Benefits of team innovation

Lecture 4 discusses the team creativity and innovation. It is emphasized, that organization does not learn if the individuals do not share their knowledge. Organizational creativity is the interplay between the creative person and the group creativity. Therefore, team is the instrument to bridge the individual learning and the organizational learning. One check point of team innovation is to observe whether the routines have been changed or not. Professor Alava argues that in the recruitment process, we should consider the person as resource which meets the organizational needs. The myth of brainstorming is that we also need the elaboration of all the new ideas, not only the accumulation of ideas. In the last part of the lecture, you will learn the benefits of the team innovation.
