Lecture 5 Discussion about intercultural competence
In the last lecture of the session, student shares her personal experience about cultural adaptation. She mentions that the intercultural competence does not develop automatically when a person moves to a new environment. It happens unconsciously and usually it is full of struggles. In the discussion, Professor Salo-Lee also makes a critical comment on the researches that pay too much attention to the efficiency but neglect the ethical dimension of the intercultural communication.
