Session 1 Towards Learning Organization

Session 1 deals with the origins, characteristics and use of the notion of organizational learning. It consists of two lectures. In the first lecture we get to know some of the classics in the field, namely Chris Argyris and Peter Senge. In the second lecture, you will learn the differences between two key concepts: organizational learning and learning organization. You will also study about professor Alava’s own characteristics of organizational learning. Later, you will also learn one of the most important theories of change: single loop and double loop learning. The framework is especially useful in understanding deep and profound change.
