I can understand what people are saying about the colour and size of cars, houses, etc.; I can also understand who these things belong to. I can understand when people are talking about themselves and their families if they speak slowly and use simple words. I can understand some words and expressions, when people are talking about me, my family, school, my free time or my surroundings but only if they are talking slowly and clearly. I can understand important school rules and follow short, simple directions. I can understand when someone tells me where something is or in what direction I should go. T4 ohjata oppilasta tekemään havaintoja kielestä ja kielenkäytöstä sekä kehittämään kielellistä päättelykykyä	Oppilas oppii arvaamaan ja päättelemään sanojen ja ilmausten merkityksiä sekä tekemään havaintoja kielestä ja kielenkäytöstä. Tavoitetta ei arvioida.	I can understand what is being said provided that people speak slowly and carefully and thatthere are long pauses from time to time. If the person speaking talks slowly and clearly, I can understand simple information about an object (for example, the size and colour of a ball, who it belongs to and where it is). In familiar situations I can understand figures and other short pieces of information; for example, I can understand the price of an item in a shop selling CDs or at McDonald’s. I can recognize concrete information (e.g. places and times) on familiar topics encountered in everyday life, provided it is delivered in slow and clear speech.	S2 Havainnoidaan pääsääntöisesti puhuttua kieltä. Harjoitellaan sanojen merkitysten päättelyä asiayhteyden, yleistiedon tai muiden kielten osaamisen perusteella.	L1 Ajattelu ja oppimaan oppiminen. L4 Monilukutaito. L5 Tieto- ja viestintäteknologinen osaaminen.
T5 tutustutaan yhdessä erilaisiin tapoihin oppia kieliä ja kokeillaan, millaiset tavat oppia kieliä sopivat oppilaalle parhaiten. Harjoitellaan yhdessä asettamaan tavoitteita kielten opiskelulle.	Oppilas oppii tunnistamaan, kokeilemaan, harjoittelemaan ja käyttämään erilaisia kielenopiskelutaitoja.	I can use different strategies such as pre-planning, execution, monitoring and repair action to support my language learning. UNDERSTANDING Listening I can understand familiar words and very basic phrases concerning myself, my family and immediate concrete surroundings when people speak slowly and clearly. Reading I can understand familiar names, words and very simple sentences, for example on notices and posters or in catalogues. SPEAKING Spoken interaction I can interact in a simple way provided the other person is prepared to repeat or rephrase things at a slower rate of speech and help me formulate what I'm trying to say. I can ask and answer simple questions in areas of immediate need or on very familiar topics. Spoken production I can use simple phrases and sentences to describe where I live and people I know. WRITING I can write a short, simple postcard, for example sending holiday greetings. I can fill in forms with personal details, for example entering my name, nationality and address on a hotel registration form.	S2 Pohditaan, miten kieliä opitaan ja miten kieliä voi oppia. Harjoitellaan erilaisia tapoja opiskella kieltä. Harjoitellaan arvioimaan omaa kielitaitoa itse- ja vertaisarvioinnin keinoin käyttämällä esimerkiksi Eurooppalaista kielisalkkua.
