Erasmus+ KA1 Staff mobility 2020 - 2023

Erasmus+ KA1 Staff mobility 2020 - 2023

Oriveden yhteiskoulu has set the following priorities for the education and school activities: Well-being of young people, a sustainable future and internationalization. We strive to support the growth of young people to healthy, global citizens for whom building a sustainable future is close to their heart.

Our KA1 mobility project contributes to this goal. We strive to develop our school's activities so that these three priorities are reflected in our teaching and other school activities at school. To achieve the goals of our educational mission, we are running Erasmus+ KA2 project Everybody Matters, which focuses on the well-being and internationalization of young people. The project Everybody matters ends in August 2020 and we are going to apply for funding for a new Erasmus+ KA2 project Hello Teenager! which is due to start in September 2020. The topics of our new KA2 project are the well-being of young people, internationalization and a sustainable future. The successful implementation of these projects requires commitment from the entire school staff. With this goal in mind - the commitment of our staff - we are applying for KA1 project funding to support our KA2 project work.

During the KA1 project period, we will carry out job shadowing mobilities to the partner schools of our KA2 project Everybody matters. In addition to our efforts to strengthen our partnership with familiar partner schools, we want to grow our network and find new European partner schools.

A good alternative to our school for a new partner country is France, because French is taught as a foreign language in our school, but we don’t have a French partner school yet. That is why we are applying for a job shadowing mobilities in a French school. We are looking for a school with a strong emphasis on sustainable development and responsibility and with which we could start a new KA2 project later in the future.

Another focus of our school development work is the well-being of young people. Orivesi is a relatively small community where it is possible to support youth as a community, all together. We want to get to know the Icelandic model, and that's why some of the job shadowing mobilities are planned for Iceland.

Some teachers at our school need language reinforcement and, above all, courage to communicate in a foreign language. Therefore, in addition to the job shadowing period, we are applying funding for language courses. During the project period we will implement the mobility according to the following schedule:

School year 2020-2021 6 mobilities:
1 x English language course in the UK
1 x job shadowing week in Italy
1 x job shadowing week in Croatia
1 x job shadowing week in Portugal
1 x job shadowing week in France
1 x job shadowing week in Iceland

School year 2021-2022 6 mobilities:
1 x English language course in the UK
1 x job shadowing week in Italy
1 x job shadowing week in Croatia
1 x job shadowing week in Portugal
1 x job shadowing week in France
1 x job shadowing week in Iceland

In addition to the development needs of the school, the mobility enables participants to develop their own teaching and teaching skills. Each participant sets goals for his / her own mobility and development before embarking on a mobility period. During the Job Shadowing mobility, the participating teacher participates in the teaching of his or her working partner. A European colleague is selected as the working partner with whom the participant is best placed to achieve his or her mobility goals.
