Technical requirements

There are some technical requirements concerning your hard- and software, but nothing out of the ordinary is needed:

  • To be compatible with the Moodle learning environment, your web browser must be at least Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0, Netscape Navigator 4.7, Opera 5.0, or above
  • Internet connection
  • E-mail

  • Quick Time Player, get it here (free) http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/

Course has multimedia content, such as video lectures. In these cases your computer should be fitted with a sound card, speakers or headphones and some kind of software for opening video files, such as RealPlayer. Multimedia content also takes up more bandwidth on your internet connection – downloading video files may take a while through a modem. Most of the web course contents are, however, perfectly accessible even through a modem connection!

If you are using a public service computer or one from work, please note that they often use secure connections with firewalls and other protective measures, which may prevent you from e.g. attending chats.
