Lecture 4 Institutional theory

Lecture 4 Institutional theory

The last lecture of the session is about institutional theory. It starts with the question: Why all the schools are alike? We will learn that there are specific reasons for schools become institutions. First reason is the external pressure, where the environment comes to play. Second reason is because the organization likes to mimic each other. Third reason is the increasing professionalism. Last but not least, is the organization's search for external recognition.
