This lecture provides a scenario that helps you to examine your own stereotypes. Please follow carefully the lecturer's instructions when doing the exercise. Please pay special attention to students' analysis. Relate their answers to your own choices and think about what kinds of stereotypes do you have.
Before any lecture either open or save to your computer the assigned PowerPoint presentations.
Assignment before the lecture: Think and list down some stereotypes that you have on different groups of people. Alternatively come up with stereotypes that people might have about you due to your national or ethnic background.

1. Stop the lecture at 02.04 (timer), follow the instructions and choose 3 most/least preferred neighbours.
2. Stop the lecture at 09.37 (timer), follow the instructions and rethink about your answers.

Assignment after the lecture: Reflect on the exercise on your own stereotypes. Write down the key elements that affect your decision making. Think about what kind of stereotypes you have? How does the environment, such as mass media, cultural background, enhance your stereotype? Please return your paper to the Reflective report.
