Lecture 2 Identity in interpersonal communication contexts
This lecture continues the topic of identity. From a communication perspective, identity is seen as the result of interpersonal negotiation. We have to bear in mind that the concept of self is culturally bounded. You will learn that the phrase "be yourself" is totally different in Eastern and Western contexts. Lastly, you will learn about culture and ethnic identity, both of which strongly relate to the history, language and tradition.
