English Journey

Bags packed, excitement building, 10 teenagers boarded a coach from West Kirby, destination Hungary! Four hours later, we arrived in Budapest, tired from the journey, yet looking forward to meeting our families. We travelled to the train station to pick up our Polish friends on the way to Dabas and were then greeted by a party of Hungarians, eager to show us to their homes. After a brief welcoming, we were taken to our respective homes, all located within 10 minutes of the school, ready for bed! Our nerves quickly went as we realised how friendly and hospitable our hosts were; we soon felt like part of the family. We sat down for a family meal and had our first taste of a traditional Hungarian dish, which we were more than happy to try! The day had taken it's toll on us, so after a quick cup of Cocoa, we made our ways to bed, looking forward to the next day of events.

Polish comenius group travelling to Dabas

25th of september started really early for us, we had to be at a train station at half past six. our train arrived at 7 o'clock and we were in warsaw (the capital of poland) at ten a.m.
the journey to Budapest was extramely long and tiring, it lasted over 10 hours. and then from the capital of hungary we finally travelled by bus to dabas. while our families were waiting for us in front of the school, we had to face the challenge and go to our host families.
full of stress and frighten we arrived at our places and could talk with the new brothers and sisters a little bit. after a long and emotional day, we could finally rest in bed hopeful to experience something unusual during this stay.
we hope to make new friends and spend unforgetable time with them.

Mittwoch 25.9.2013/ Deutschland

The day began early for us. Our flight started at 7:30, but fortunately it took only one hour. After another hour with the bus, we arrived at the Táncsics Mihály Gimnázium in Dabàs. Impressed by the school building we saw first a film about the school. After lunch at the cafeteria we made a trip to the slowakian part of the town, where we could try a delicious Strudel at the Strudelhouse. Arriving back to school we met our host families, who welcomed us kindly. The day ended for all early and we were already curious of the next day.

We have been waiting for you for so long

We have been waiting for you for so long. We were looking forward to get to know you and make new friends. We were working a lot to make your stay as pleasant as it can be. Now we are happy because you are here and we can start this programme. We tried to make the school friendly and we hope we managed to do that; we hope you like the decorations. Our first impression has been better than we thought it would be, we think this programme is going to be great and we will be able to make good friends. Everybody is so kind and it's good and interesting to meet people from other countries and learn about their countries.

Finland

Wednesday 25.9.2013

We started our journey to Hungary from our schools yard at 5.30 (Finnish time = 4.30 in Hungarian time) in the morning. We took a bus ride to Helsinki, Finland's capital, from where we got onto a plane and took a flight to Budapest. The bus ride and the flight both lasted about two hours.

The bus ride wasn't very exciting; almost everyone was sleeping, due to the early wake-up. Finally at the airport people started to wake up, and then I asked them (who were awake) what did they expect from the trip, or from Hungary. Most of us didn't expect a thing, maybe because they, including me, haven't been to Hungary, or neither on a Comenius-trip before. Gladly one of our teachers gave me an answer; she was expecting that everything would be as great as in previous Comenius-visits. One Finnish student gave also an answer; before leaving home, she had thought that Sofia was the capital of Hungary. Gladly her mother corrected her knowledge before letting her daughter "on the road".

The flight went like flights normally do, so nothing special happened. In Hungary we Finns were quite positively surprised; the temperature of 4 Celsius in Finland had switched to a much more South-European 24 degrees Celsius. The sun was also shining, so I think that the locals were quite amused by a group of Finns wiping off sweat from their foreheads.

From the airport we got a ride to Dabas, and after a sightseeing tour etc. we were let to our host families' hands. Everyone got to Dabas safely, and most of the tired travellers went to bed early. So good night !, or Hyvää yötä !, how we say in Finland. :)

Dann haben wir z.B. Sehenswürdigkeiten in Dabas gesehen. Am Abend hat man uns unseren "Familien" gegeben. Dann sind fast alle müde Passagieren eingeschlafen.
