Rovastinkangas is a school that has about 250 students with two preschool groups and classes from 1 to 6. Rovastinkangas has a set of values which are: responsibility, tolerance and community spirit. The specialities of our school are languages and internationality, sustainable development, physical education and reading. 

Our school was built in 2006 and it is located next to outdoor sport venues. We make use of the nearby nature and good sports opportunities during our lessons and recess. For example: pump track, football field, multipurpose field, skate ramp, disc golf course and skiiland. 

In language lessons we use different action based methods to give our students the best possible language skills. We organize several language-related events throughout the school year and the theme of the short elective courses in the spring is languages and cultures. The school of Rovastinkangas has a long history of partnering internationally and arranging trips to different countries with the help of the EU´s programme to support education, training, youth and sports in Europe, Erasmus+. Our school follows the Erasmus+ plan of the city of Orivesi. 

Our school´s Green Flag jury organizes sustainable development activities and events every school year. Sports and reading are a big part of our everyday life as the culture and well-being teams organize different activities together with the students.
