Moi!

My name is Andrea, I am an education student from Spain and I studied in Finland for a year in an Erasmus+ program. I spent 4 months at Mutalan Koulu and it was a really good time for me. They received me with arms wide open and allowed me to be one more in their school, that feels like a big family.

The bond that teachers have among them and with every student makes you feel like you are in the right place, and you can see how much they care about the wellbeing of everyone. As a future teacher, this taught me a lot about positive teaching and empowering students to reach their best.

It is challenging to be in a foreign country that is completely different to what you are used to, but at Mutalan Koulu they help you turn this into a huge learning opportunity. I have always heard good about the Finnish education and now I understand many things.

I am so grateful that I got to spend time here as a trainee teacher, and I am lucky that I got to belong to the 2nd grade class. The students are very loveable and always ready for a challenge. And Sari, the amazing teacher, made sure I was included in the class.

I also had the great opportunity to start a theatre project with a group of students, and they had a remarkable attitude that made them enjoy it a lot.
