Hi! My name is Alessandra, I’m 25 years old and I’m from Italy! I live in Cremona, a small city in the north of Italy, close to Milan.
I’m a teacher and after my graduation I decided to spent a period of training in Mutala koulu!! I’d already visited Mutala koulu last year in March only for a week and after this week I decided that I would come back to stay more in this amazing school. I was resolute to come back because I was really curious to discover and learn more about the Finnish school system and I wanted to have an active role in this school.
I arrived in Mutala koulu at the beginning of February and I was welcomed in the best way possible, they took care of everything for my accommodation, and for this I want to thank especially Ulla and Risto for their availability and kindness.
I was immediately involved in the school daily life, routines and activity and after one week I really felt part of the teachers’ team. I quickly got used and literally fell in love with the Finnish life style, culture, habits, food, cold weather and school life.
During this period I worked with the 6th grader pupils and their teacher Tarja. We spend great time together. I will never stop to thanking Tarja, she trusted me and she gave me the possibility to grow as a teacher, grazie di cuore!
I had also the opportunity to meet, spend time and cooperate with other international teachers in Mutala koulu, I want to thank especially Katerina and Joep for the great time together, I hope that we will keep in touch and meet again somewhere!
Finally, I want to thank all the teachers team for the hospitality, especially Hanna-Kaisa and Johanna for having always being kind and friendly with me!
Now I’m back in Italy but I will always keep this experience in my heart, I hope to come back one day in Mutala koulu and to meet all of you again, you are all welcome in Italy too!!!
