exercise 29 Fill in the missing prepositions.
Three men had been charged 1. with serious crimes. They didn't look forward 2. to time in prison, but it had at least occurred 3. to them to take items with them 4. to which they might devote their time and energy while incarcerated. They compared their items 5. to/with the ones the other convicts had brought. The first convict tried to convince all the others 6. of his artistic skills. He wanted to develop 7. into a great painter. He pulled out a box of paints and the others complimented him 8. on his choice. The second convict said that he didn't care 9. for/about arts. He pulled out a deck of cards and said he would benefit 10. from them more. He wouldn't waste time 11. on paints but instead play poker, solitaire or gin rummy. The third convict was smug. He couldn't wait 12. for his chance to show off. The guy pulled out a box of tampons and said they belonged 13. to him. The others couldn't understand why he had opted 14. for something like that. He replied that he had only relied 15. on the promise on the box. According to the box, he'd be able to go horseback riding, swimming, roller-skating… you name it!
