1. It must be odd/weird/strange to move to a foreign country, especially because the
customs and language may / might be very different.
2. My best friends were immigrants and (they) have had to learn many new things about
their new home country.
3. It can’t have been easy, but they have been able / managed to succeed very well.
4. I’m not sure if I could / would be able to move abroad permanently. It might / could be
pretty challenging.
5. If I had been allowed to travel abroad with my friends when I was young, I could /
might have been braver / more brave to speak foreign languages.
6. My younger sister has always been allowed to do the things she has wanted to, but I
have always had to obey the rules.
