A few weeks ago the pupils of the 6th grade participated voluntarily in the  coastal clean up of the beach of Shinias, one-hour -away- from our school. This action was organized by HELMEPA , the Hellenic Marine Environment Protection Association with the strategic support of the team of the National Geographic in Greece  as part of the Global Voluntary Coastal Cleaning Month. The children made a list with every piece of plastic, paper,glass,aluminium or just rubbish they found on the beach and they promised to be back in spring again to continue their symbolic but also very meaningful  work.
