Network meetings

IV Network meeting in Estonia 21.8. - 22.8.2019

The next network meeting will take place at Tallinn in Estonia.

Practical information

Coming to Tallinn

Depending where your journey starts from you can travel to Tallinn either by plane, boat or bus. Most of you will probably use plane and will land on Tallinn airport. The logistics between the city centre and airport is most convenient with taxi. A taxi stand is also just outside the departure hall. The fare from the airport to the city centre is about €10. There is also public transport available for 2€ per trip, see more here.

On August 21st we will meet at the e-Estonia Briefing Centre at 9.30. The Centre is conveniently located just 2 minutes drive from the airport, and ca 10 minutes drive from the city centre, e.g. by taxi. Another option is to catch the tram no 4 (see Googlemap).

Accommodation

We suggest that you stay in the Hotel L'Ermitage. There is a special pre-booking for accommodation for dates 20.-23.08.2019 (includes breakfast and TAX) with keyword „VALA“ until 30.04 from e-mail: reservations@lermitagehotel.ee:

  • 3 x Standard Single room 75 EUR/night/per room
  • 3 x Business room 90 EUR/night/per room
  • 3 x Superior room 105 EUR/night/per room
  • 3 x Superior Romantic 105 EUR/night/per room
  • 3 x Superior with Sauna 140 EUR/night/per room

Useful tips

Many of you have probably visited Tallinn earlier. However, there is a saying that the capital is never finished. So also new sites are opened from time to time. Visit Tallinn is a good source for inspiration.

I do have two recommendations. At first, there is a good news for those who love classical music or Andrea Bocelli - his World Tour 2019 will be performing at the Tallinn Song Festival Grounds on August 20th, see more online. Secondly, I have just visited with my Nordic and Baltic Euroguidance colleagues the newly opened Arvo Pärt centre and in case there is an interest among participants, I could try to find out a possible visit. It is ca 45 minutes drive from the city centre and it takes 1,5-2 hours to have a short guided tour, look at the film and walk around a bit.

There are many nice places to eat in Tallinn, see more here.
