The Scream - Edvard Munch
This painting has always interested me in some way because it's very different from other artworks that I've seen. It's good that you pointed out that the painter was struggling with mental issues. It expalins the little messy and even chaotic feeling in the painting. The colours are a bit distressing because they are so intensive. I think that the colours and curved brush strokes are important part of the painting.
