I ponder of something great
My lungs will fill and then deflate
They fill with fire, exhale desire
I know it's dire my time today

I have these thoughts, so often I ought
To replace that slot with what I once bought
'Cause somebody stole my car radio
And now I just sit in silence

Sometimes quiet is violent
I find it hard to hide it
My pride is no longer inside
It's on my sleeve
My skin will scream reminding me of
Who I killed inside my dream
I hate this car that I'm driving
There's no hiding for me
I'm forced to deal with what I feel
There is no distraction to mask what is real
I could pull the steering wheel

I have these thoughts, so often I ought
To replace that slot with what I once bought
'Cause somebody stole my car radio
And now I just sit in silence

I ponder of something terrifying
'Cause this time there's no sound to hide behind
I find over the course of our human existence
One thing consists of consistence
And it's that we're all battling fear
Oh dear, I don't know if we know why we're here
Oh my, too deep, please stop thinking
I liked it better when my car had sound

There are things we can do
But from the things that work there are only two
And from the two that we choose to do
Peace will win and fear will lose
It is faith and there's sleep
We need to pick one please because
Faith is to be awake
And to be awake is for us to think
And for us to think is to be alive
And I will try with every rhyme
To come across like I am dying
To let you know you need to try to think

I have these thoughts, so often I ought
To replace that slot with what I once bought
'Cause somebody stole my car radio
And now I just sit in silence

And now I just sit in silence
And now I just sit
And now I just sit in silence
And now I just sit in silence
And now I just sit in silence
And now I just sit

I ponder of something great
My lungs will fill and then deflate
They fill with fire, exhale desire
I know it's dire my time today

I have these thoughts, so often I ought
To replace that slot with what I once bought
'Cause somebody stole my car radio
And now I just sit in silence

I chose this song because it is one of my favorites and I can relate very much to this song. It has really meaningful lyrics, although the lyrics are deep. First time when I listened the song I didn’t immediately understand the words of the song, but after listening to it many times I started to understand meaning of the lyrics.

The message of the song is difficult to explain, but simply it is how music can stop mind from going crazy and overthinking about negative things. And it even can save people.

I think that Tyler Joseph(singer) wanted to bring out his thoughts about dealing with anxiety and depression. His car radio is the only thing that stops his mind from going crazy and when someone steals it he has no way to stop his thoughts.

Song's english is clear and understandable and I did not really learn any new words. Song did not have understandable accent.

I've heard this song in the past, but I didn't pay attention to the lyrics, and this made me see the song in a whole new light.
I think you did a great job of analyzing this song because it is a bit vague and hard to understand the meaning at first

I think the lyrics "There's no hiding for me I'm forced to deal with what I feel There is no distraction to mask what is real" really shows how when his car radio is stolen, he doesn't have music to distract him from his issues; just like you pointed out.
Your analysis was also very simple, and straight to the point, which made it easy to read.

I listened to this song a lot a few years back and I think it's very good. Your analysis is very clear and it's definetly on point. I also had a hard time understanding the lyrics at first. Realizing their meaning changes the vibe of the song completely.
My favorite part of the song is "sometimes quiet is violent", because it really is. Being alone in silence with your thoughts can be really scary. In situations like that I usually call up a friend and play something with them.

I have liked and listened to this song for years. I'm a fan of Twenty One Pilots and I went to their concerts. I think Paula has very good thoughts on the song and she has definitely understood the message of the song. I think that the singer Tyler has absolutely bring out his true emotions in that song.
