6.6. First day at school

Tekijä: Eeva Sankari
I knew beforehand this day might be difficult because yesterday was so long, but we did it!!
After a french breakfast (toast with jam and tea), we left school at quarter to eight. It was nice morning for a fifteen minutes walk. It was good to come to Lycée St Joseph and see old friends. So during the day there were quite many hugs and kisses.

But work is the thing why I came :) Today I shadowed english lessons. Anne (the teacher I'm shadowing) asked me to tell about me and the subjects I teach. They are interesting here, because in high school they only study philosphy not at all psychology or religion. So we had few fine conversations about teaching religion at school.
I learned new things about high school studies in general in France and especially in this school. We also made plans for the rest of the week.

Because Lycée St Joseph is a private catholic school, they have something we don't have: I was today at mass with 30-40 students from middle school and high school. They really had eucharist during the 40 minutes service. I was told that they have this kind of mass four times a year: in the beginning and in the end of school year, at christmas time and on Maundy Thursday. All who wants, can come, so mainly there were students who are active in church anyway.
During the last lessons I tried to get connected to wifi so I could write this blog and change messages to Finland.

After school ended at quarter past five, we went to get my suitcase from my daughter's friend's home and I moved to Anne. It almost like coming home, because last autumn I've been here. After a afternoon walk in Mont Jean sur Loire (Loire has quite a lot water in it), we had asparagus for dinner and now I'm going to go and get some sleep.
