USING ICT IN LEARNING
ICT (information and communications technology) is used in learning in various ways. The goal is to become a skilled and responsible user of ICT. The curriculum states that ICT is used efficiently and safely both as a tool and an object of learning. During lessons students mainly use personally owned devices (laptops, tablets, and smart phones). It may also be possible to use the devices provided by the school. The teacher chooses the methods of learning and guides towards a safe way of working.
When using you your own device students are connected to a safe and free wireless network provided by the school. The school is not responsible for the possible expenses from using your own device such as phone, network or software costs.
Students are responsible for the safety and care of their devices. By using a personal device during lessons both the student and the parents approve the use of a personal device in learning. The school is not responsible for the student’s device if an accident happens.
The student and parents must decide together whether or not it is acceptable to use you own device during lessons. Parents must go through the following points with the student and agree with the terms and conditions concerning the use of personal devices.
1. Students are responsible for the safety and care of their devices.
2. The devices are used with a teacher’s permission only and according to the teacher’s instructions.
3. It is not allowed to trespass another person’s device or user account.
4. It is not allowed to photograph, video or voice record another person without a permission. Sharing material without a permission is not allowed.
5. Devices or software may not be used to cause harm or bully another person.
6. A student must delete unsuitable or prohibited material from the device immediately.
7. Student and parents are responsible for updating and the security of the device.
