After school activity club at Ivalo School

Welcome to Ivalo School After-School Activities!

After-school activities are for children in grades 1–2. At Ivalo School, also pre-primary (preschool) children can join.

The purpose of the activities is to support the child’s growth and development. We also support families and the school in raising and guiding children.

Adults create a safe and enjoyable afternoon for the children.

After-school time is part of the child’s free time.

Children can relax, go outside, play sports, do crafts, and have a healthy snack.

Time and Place

After-school activities are organised on school days until 16:30.

In the school year 2025–2026:

  • Activities take place in the ESI–2 area and in the school yard
  • Children are divided into three groups:
    • Preschool
    • Grade 1
    • Grade 2
  • Each group has 2–3 instructors

There is no after-school activity:

  • During school holidays
  • On Saturdays (for example, spring festival day 30 May 2026)
  • On public holidays

Important Instructions for Parents

  • Inform weekly attendance by Friday of the previous week (by text message).
  • Inform us if:
    • Your child is sick
    • Plans change suddenly
    • Your child visits a friend
  • Inform if someone else picks up your child.
  • You can also tell us if a trusted person (e.g. older sibling, grandparent) can always pick up the child.

Please always clearly tell:

  • Who picks up your child
  • If the child goes home alone (walking or by bus)

If we do not have information, we only give the child to the guardian.

Child’s Needs

  • Inform about special needs (for example allergies or illnesses).
  • When picking up your child, make sure the instructor knows the child has left.

Clothing and Equipment

  • Bring spare clothes with your child (with name labels).
  • Children must have weather-appropriate clothing.
  • We go outside twice every day, in all weather.

Mobile Devices

  • Phones and smart devices must stay in the school bag.
  • This also includes smart watches with calling functions.
  • If you need anything, contact the instructors.

Fees

  • Full-time: 80 € per month
  • Part-time (max. 10 days/month): 40 € per month

Parents must make sure the 10 days are not exceeded.

Clubs

Children in after-school activities can also attend school clubs.
We guide them based on your instructions.

Please inform us:

  • Which club your child attends
  • Any schedule changes

Pick-up

  • After 15:30, children are usually outside
  • Pick-up happens mainly from the school yard

Before that:

  • Preschool: own area downstairs
  • Grades 1–2: own area upstairs
  • Entrance: door B
