In Handicrafts the students will work on different kinds of projects than before and what they are used to in the handcraft's classrooms. We have Handicraft lessons 1,5 hours per week and that is the estimated time students should spend working on the given tasks. If more time is spent on something it does not mean that the other parts of the task shouldn’t be done. Parents can also give a permission to work with a classmate if that is possible. 

All the students should have a folder for Handicrafts in their Pedanet page. That folder should be used for keeping the Handicrafts Learning Diary. Only if the use of Pedanet is still difficult, students are also allowed to use a notebook. In that case handwriting has to be neat and the Learning Diary carefully organized. Students should return the handwritten diaries to their classroom teacher when they come back to school. 

In your Learning Diary you should have

TASK 1

Design your own striped shirts (at least eight different shirts)

Copy the sheet with eight shirts and use that in your computers Photo Editor. If using a computer for this is difficult, use paper and colored pencils or felt-tip pens. Then you need two A4 papers and four shirts on each.

TASK 2

What can you make from the old pair of jeans? 

Create at least five ideas of your own and ask your parents for even more ideas. Next, search from the Internet for other people’s ideas. 

If possible, choose one of your own ideas or someone’s else’s and make the product together with your parents or alone. In any case, please, don’t cut your jeans without your parent’s approval :). Ask for the permission to use a sewing machine. If you can’t make what you planned, write anyway down a) what part of the jeans you would have used, b) the steps you should have taken and 3) the tools you would have used. Keep in mind the planning form used at school.

Complete the Learning Diary.

Näytelmää ja draamaa

Jos et saanut roolivihkon paperiversiota näytelmästä, se löytyy tämän linkin takaa. Jos pystyt, voit myös käydä hakemassa paperit koululta. Jos menet koululle, soita ensin jollekulle joka tulee tuomaan paperit ovelle. Puhelinnumerot löytyvät koulun etusivulta. Meidän näytelmämme on siis

Musiikista vastaavat: Etsi valmiiksi musiikinpätkiä, jotka sopisivat mielestäsi eri kohtiin

Valotista ja lavasteista vastaavat: piirtäkää paperille mallikuvia, miltä lavasteet voisivat näyttää (koti, metsä, peikkojen luola...?)

Solmuja

Hae netistä ohjeet seuraavien solmujen tekemiseen: umpisolmu, vetosolmu, merimiessolmu, hevosenhäntäsolmu, vasarasolmu ja surmansilmukka. Ellet kuitenkaan löydä jonkun em. solmun tekemisen ohjetta, korvaa solmu sellaisella, jonka ohje löytyy. Voit halutessasi opetella myös lisää erilaisia solmuja.

Etsi kotoa paksua lankaa, nyöriä, narua, kengännauhaa tms., jolla teet solmut löytämäsi ohjeen mukaisesti. Solmujen tekemiseen voit myös leikata ohutta nauhaa esim. muovikassista tms. kierrätysmateriaalista.

Etsi kotoa myös pahvia esim. jostain puuro-tai muropakkauksesta, kenkälaatikosta tai vanhoista korteista ja tee kortille pohja. Kortin koon saat itse päättää mutta tarkista, että kaikki solmusi mahtuvat siihen kauniisti.

Leikkaa kaksi samankokoista pahvia. Valmista solmut ja liimaa tai ompele ne neulalla ja langalla pahviin. Mikäli ompelet solmut pistä neula samasta kohdasta takaisin nurjalle kuin oli tultu oikeallekin, ettei pistoskohta jää näkyviin työn oikealle puolelle.

KNOTS

Search the web for instructions on how to complete the following knots: solid knot, traction knot, sailor knot, horse tail knot, hammer knot, and death knot. However, if you cannot find instructions for making one of the above knots, replace the one with the one you find. You can also learn more different knots, if you wish.

Look for a thick yarn, string, string, shoelace, etc. at home to knot according to the pattern you find. You can also cut a thin ribbon from plastic bags or other recycled material to make knots.

Also try to find cardboard at home, for example, from a porridge or cereal box, a shoe box or old cards and make a card base. You can decide the size of the card, but make sure that all your knots fit nicely.

Cut two cards of the same size. 

Prepare knots and glue or sew them with needle and thread on cardboard. If you sew the knots, insert the needle at the same point back to the wrong side, so that the injection site will not be visible on the right side of the job.
