Instructions for the group work - The regions of Europe

Think through in your group:

-Make a decision in a fair way. Who will be the secretary?

-Plan (in a fair way that suits everyone) the division of the tasks and workload. Are there some students who take care of the vegetation regions and other students who seek information about animals or industriality?

or

Are you going to divide the countries for everyone in the group and then gathering the information altogether?

Answer to these questions with your group:

-Which countries belong to this region of Europe?

-How many vegetation regions are there in this region of Europe and what are they called?

-What is the topography like in this area? Name the most important landmarks in different countries.

-What animals live in this area?

-What are the countries’ main industrial products?

-What languages do people speak?

-What kind of climate zones are there? Describe the weather and climate.

-What is the population of each country in this region?

-What is the population of the countries altogether in this region?

-What else could be interesting about this topic?

Group work assessment

1. Seeking information:

Think carefully which sites are the ones you will use. Be critical with the sources. You need to be able to give an explanation, what lead you to use this particular site?

You can also borrow books from the library for your information seeking.

2. Group working abilities:

-Self assessment at the end of the project

-Each group's behaviour and roles during the lessons

-Presentation in the classroom (reading, gestures while presenting, roles in the group, especially everyone’s equality and activity)

3. How wide is your perspective on the topic.
How do you show your understanding of the topic?

-Presentation in the classroom and the written task on Peda.net

-Are all the areas brought up in the presentation?

-Is the information given important and put into own words?
