Riihenmäki school

Riihenmäki is a school for students from 1st grade until the 9th grade. It is located in Mäntsälä, in southern Finland, about 60 kilometres north of Helsinki (the capital of Finland). The original construction work of the school building was finished in August, 1998 and the extension part will be finished by July, 2017. The modern architechure offers a variety of well-equipped facilities; excellent for up-to-date teaching and learning.

There are, approximately, 700 students aged between 7 to 16 in our school. In addition to our 50 teachers there is also a head teacher, an assistant head teacher, a school secretary, a lunch lady, a janitor, a school nurse, a social worker, a psyschologist and four cleaning ladies working in our school.

In Riihenmäki school we emphasize the importance of creativity and openness. The architecture of the school building also brings up a feeling of open spaces and invites teachers to make up new solutions for teaching in a new way. As far as the behaviour of the students is concerned, we do our very best to prevent and interfere with any kind of bullying during the school hours.
