"In Greece, the most favourite  theme of painting is the famous seascapes~ θαλασσογραφίες ~thalassografies.

The water  in Art  inspires and displays calm and romantic, poetic and blissful stories but also wild and warlike pictures. Sea paintings awaken the memory always bringing up emotions and landscapes filled with sweet light, magical reflections and bright memories seen through the eyes of individual artists.

Greek painters resemble the romantic Venetian artists with the foggy landscapes and endless horizons, with the gentle light, the minimal contrasts and intensities full of romance." 

With these words, the  Art teacher of our school tried to motivate the pupils of the 5th and 6th grades to work on the topic of seascapes and present their own small works of art in the Art Class.
