Vakka-opisto Heading for Europe 2018-2020

is an adult education staff mobility project related to the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union. In this project we at Vakka-opisto aim at improving the professional skills of our teaching staff, thus increasing the quality of teaching in our institution. We also hope to establish new contacts and start international cooperation with other European educational organizations.

In this project we focus on developing the teaching in the sectors of handicrafts and language teaching. The project lasts for two years (1.8.2018-31.7.2020) and it includes 16 mobilities, 5 for language teaching and 11 for handicrafts. Those who participate the mobilities are all working as teachers in our institution. Both courses as well as job shadowing type of learning mobilities are included in our project.

During this project our teachers who take part in the mobilities learn about organizations in other countries, how they work and function. The teachers learn new things, get up-to-date information and new experience, as well as new ideas for their own work as teachers of languages or handicrafts. Another important aim for our project is to establish new contacts and find collegues and organizations who work in the field of adult education.
