Course Plan for autumn 2021 – A Window on the World  

This course is a must if you want to be well prepared for the final exams! You will get vocabulary for the themes most commonly seen in the media. There have been final exams where two thirds of the material were connected to the themes of this course. Don't miss your opportunity to finalise your grammatical skills and learn about the following themes...

Themes of this course: How can we experience nature? What is sustainable development, and how does it fit with our personal development? How do we create and use energy and other resources?

Plus you get to revise some important English grammar: linking words, punctuation and capital letters, the special cases of auxiliary verbs, prepositional phrases

Material: Insights 7 (Otava) + Grammar Rules & key

Tests: 3 vocabulary tests on glossaries (p.56, p.80 & p.96)

Essays: One at home. See p.128-130 for titles (ENA7-1 September the 6th & ENA7-2 September 14th). Each essay 700-1300 marks.

Course exam: grammar, reading comprehension, listening comprehension  

Evaluation: Vocabulary tests (30%), Course exam (70%)

Participation in class: at best +1 in the course grade

If an essay is returned late, the final course grade will be at max -1.
