READING: KIDS AND THEIR HOBBIES.
1. Mary’s hobby :
My hobby is making paper dolls. The paper dolls are always drawn on cardboard and cut out. I also design
some beautiful clothes for my paper dolls. I normally draw the clothes on paper, cut them out and put them
on the dolls. I often do this on Sundays. I enjoy making paper dolls because I like drawing and designing.
When I design the clothes, I sometimes learn about the clothes that people of other countries wear. I have
made paper dolls for one year. Now I have got over thirty dolls and more than a hundred sets of beautiful
clothes.
2. Sam’s hobbies:
Sam has got a lot of hobbies and interests. He usually runs every morning. He occasionally goes skiing on
Saturdays during the winter. He often rides a horse at a stable near his home on Sundays. He is never late.
He loves listening to music. He always goes to choir practice on Wednesday evenings and sometimes sings in
church on Sundays. He doesn’t have much extra money, so he rarely goes to concerts in the city. He seldom
watches TV at weekends because he likes doing things outside. He usually goes to the gym if it’s raining
outside. He often hangs out with his best friend but he never goes shopping.
ACTIVITIES:
1. What is Mary’s hobby? Why?
2. How many dolls and sets of clothes has she got?
3. What do you think of this hobby? (adjectives + like / dislike)
4. What are Sam’s hobbies? Answer using the following expressions
