Group VIII: Noble gases
What defines a noble gas?
The noble gases are the 8th and final column in the periodic table, which means they have a full valence shell. This means that noble gases rarely react, with few exception to the rule.
- nonmetals
- gases
- odourless
- inert, or not reactive
- except with highly reactive elements, like F, fluorine (fluori)
- monatomic as gases
