I went to the Big Apple (1) because I wanted to see the New Year’s celebration on Times Square. It’s one of (2) in New York City. It’s a busy place and there are lots of tourists (3) all year round. On New Year’s Eve there are, (4) , even more people because many New Yorkers want to celebrate the New Year there, too.
Times Square was (5) but there were (6) tens of thousands of people on the streets and I couldn’t get through. I realized that if I wanted to see the celebration, I’d have to try to get back to the hotel. (7) I but I made it. Exactly (8) I was back in my room and, (9) , I saw the crystal ball drop down (10) .
