Health problems

chronic (of a disease) lasting for a long time; difficult to cure chronic bronchitis/arthritis/asthma

recover  to get well again after being ill, hurt, etc. She remains in serious condition, but is expected to recover.

pneumonia a serious illness affecting one or both lungs that makes breathing difficult

Mental health

anxiety  anxiety (about/over something) the state of feeling nervous or worried that something bad is going to happen Some hospital patients experience high levels of anxiety. ahdistus
depressed  a medical condition in which a person feels very sad and anxious and often has physical symptoms such as being unable to sleep, etc. She was diagnosed as having clinical depression. masentunut
gender dysphoria sad or anxious feelings that somebody has because their gender identity does not match the sex they were said to have at birth    
eating disorder an emotional disorder that causes eating habits that are not normal, for example anorexia   syömishäriö
antidepressant a drug used to treat the illness depression

rehab the process of helping to cure somebody who has a problem with drugs or alcohol to go into rehab  
therapist a specialist who treats a particular type of illness or problem, or who uses a particular type of treatment a speech therapist  
therapy the treatment of a physical problem or an illness He is receiving therapy for cancer.  
psychoanalysis a method of treating somebody with mental problems by asking them to talk about past experiences and feelings in order to try to find explanations for their present problems
