I chose this song because I have been listening to it since I was 11 and I think it has a really important message. I never really thought about the lyrics until there was a time in my life last year when I would listen to this song because I was in a similar situation. 
I think the message behind this song is that when you're put in a position where you love someone but need to think about yourself so you do what's best for you and leave that toxic person behind and tell them there isn't a way to apologize anymore. 
The artist's perspective is that when you love someone and only want to see the good in them but the truth comes out and the person you thought would never do anything bad for you shows their real colors but never seems to own their mistakes and just apologizes and nothing changes about their behaviour. And when you're so in love you don't want to lose that person so you just forgive them over and over again.
I don't think I learnt anything new from this song.
