Compositions

Write a composition of about 150 - 250 words (700 - 1300 characters) on one of the following topics.

Before you begin, plan your composition carefully by making some notes or drawing a mind map, for example.

Remember to stay on the topic.

Write your composition on Google Drive/docs -> share the link to your composition with editing rights (you can log in on Google Drive using your Wilma account)

1 At school
What is the smartest, and the dumbest thing you have ever done at school? Describe the situation, where it happened, why it happened, what you did and how you felt.

2 School’s out
Your friend thinks that extra-curricular activities offered at school are a waste of time. You disagree. Write a dialogue between you and your friend where you discuss the extra-curricular activities at your school.

3 Earning or learning
You run an advice blog for an online youth magazine. Write a reply to the following question:
“Dear Abby, I want to be a model, but my parents want me to become an engineer. I am not interested in further studies at all. I’d much rather start working as soon as possible. What do you think I should do? Do you have any tips on how I could convince my parents?"

4. My brilliant idea
You have developed a clever new online game. Write an email to the managing director of a large, international video game company, presenting your idea. Explain your game, and say why they should invest in your idea.

5. Working nine to five
Unemployment is on the rise everywhere, with young people in particular struggling to find work. What are the causes of unemployment, and what can be done about it? Write an essay on this topic.

6. Working life
Write a short story. Give your story a title, and start with the following line:
“It was my first day at my first job. When I entered the large open-plan office, there was nobody there…”
