We recognize that the use and creation of AI carries significant societal, economic, and environmental responsibilities. These include concerns around fairness, transparency, labor impacts, data use, and the resource demands of large-scale AI systems, including energy and water consumption.

At the same time, AI technology and its supporting infrastructure are developing at an exceptional pace. Because of this rapid change, a highly detailed, static impact analysis conducted today could become outdated before it is complete. For that reason, we are taking a continuous and adaptive approach. We will monitor emerging research, regulatory guidance, infrastructure developments, and best practices, and we will update our ethical framework as the technology, evidence, and our own use of AI mature.
