Bring The Ocean into Your School MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) -verkkokurssi käynnistyi 15.1.2024. Kurssin oppeja hyödynnetään tammikuussa käynnistyvässä UNESCO ASPnet Yhteinen Itämeri -verkoston eTwinning-projektisssa Our Baltic Sea. 



Verkkokurssi muodostuu neljästä moduulista: 

Module 1: Navigating Ocean Literacy (opening on 15/01/2024)

In Module 1, you will delve into the concept of ocean literacy. From understanding why it is important for STEAM teaching to transforming this knowledge into meaningful action, the narrow and wide interpretations of ocean literacy will be explored.

Module 2: Building Ocean Knowledge with European Blue Schools (opening on 22/01/2024)

In Module 2, you will learn about European Blue Schools, a network of schools committed to fostering ocean literacy and sustainability. You will hear about impactful blue projects, which will inspire you to transform your school into a vibrant hub of ocean knowledge.

Module 3: Becoming a European Blue School: The Find the Blue Challenge (opening on 29/01/2024)

In Module 3, you will explore the criteria to become a European Blue School and the Find the Blue challenge, an-EU wide initiative inviting teachers to identify an ocean topic and develop a school project from it, together with a local partner. Other topics covered in this module include the core principles of blue project design, including project-based learning and open-schooling, among others.

Module 4: Ocean Literacy in Action (opening on 05/02/2024)

As you reach the final leg of this journey, you will be invited to put your knowledge and ideas into test and submit your Learning Scenario, which can be converted into a blue school project.
