TASK 3

Bicycle Maintenance

Talk to your parents first and make plans about the maintenance. If you plan to do this together, you can do it in the evening or next weekend.

Watch one or both of the videos for tips. One is in Finnish and the other one is in English.

Before watching get your English vocabulary here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_bicycle_parts

4. Check the function of the bike bell.

5. Check if your bike has a white front reflector.

6. Check if your bike has a red rear reflector.

7. Check if your bike’s pedals have yellow reflectors.

9. Check your bike’s chains’ tightness and if necessary, tighten them.

10. Oil the chains and wipe off the extra oil.

11. Check the tyres’ air pressure and pump more air if needed.

12. Tighten loose nuts and screws.

13. Test ride your bike and check if the brakes work.

14. Take a new picture of your bike.

If you now found out that something couldn’t be fixed or that your bike needs a new part, make sure you tell that to your parent.

Remember to use always a helmet when riding a bike.
